The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the total value of immobilized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the decision would be executed in close cooperation with the US.

British penalties have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had exclusively been sourced from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their aim to advance efforts toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national assets to conclude the conflict.

He noted that further sanctions over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This announcement comes after European Union officials convened in Copenhagen recently to discuss employing seized Russian holdings for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump called on G7 allies to seize or employ frozen Russia's holdings, based on news outlets.

The value of seized Russia's funds in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

President Zelensky calls on Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to participate in the PURL program

The Russian government carried out widespread bombardments all over Ukraine on Friday, leading to electricity outages in large parts of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were fatally injured and at least 20 people were hurt in the attack, Ukrainian officials stated.

In a message on social media subsequent to the incident, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike focused on public and utility structures.

"What is required is not mere statements but decisive action - from the America, EU, and the G7 - in delivering defense mechanisms and applying sanctions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would press Sir Keir to participate in the PURL scheme, under which alliance members acquire weapons from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the program, as well as apply additional measures on the Russian Federation.
