Triple NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic sustained a "devastating" knee injury as the Nuggets fell by a score of 147-123 to the Heat.

The star player injured himself towards the end of the second quarter following an inadvertent contact with teammate Jones.

The other player came down on the foot of the big man, and he immediately fell to the ground grabbing his knee.

The 30-year-old, that is leading the league season in rebounds and dimes, had a score of 21 points and eight dimes in the matchup before sustaining the injury.

The player will have an MRI scan on Tuesday to determine the severity of the injury.

"Immediately, he knew something was wrong," stated Denver coach Adelman.

"Injuries are part of the game. Anyone who is injured, that's tough to see, particularly a player as talented as he is. More information will come tomorrow."

"We'll move on as a team. Of course, currently, I'm more concerned about him as a person and the disappointment of facing something of that nature."
