9. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Showrunner Vivienne Medrano's boldly transgressive mature musical show, which sprang from a crowdfunded pilot, truly hit its stride in its sophomore installment. Following the climactic events of season 1, the story expands considerably, following the scheming media overlord Vox as he takes command of the narrative, sparking a series of increasingly dramatic conflicts that naturally end in show-stopping song.

Although it might not have a single viral hit quite like the first season's "iconic tune," that's because each element in this season being increasingly ambitious. The fight sequences, personal arcs, and especially the score and songs are collectively elevated. The story moves the overarching storyline forward while providing plenty of bizarre, unhinged, and ultimately fun dark fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

As a successor to the legendary Netflix series, this series faced enormous shoes to fill. Despite well-documented development issues, the final product demonstrates to be worth the wait. The plot follows Matt Murdock once his dual life as Daredevil is publicly revealed, leaving him a target to foes both past and present in a refreshed take of his well-known setting.

The premiere is a thrilling return to form, evoking the gritty tone fans loved from the original series. Although the subsequent episodes explore some different territory, the season finishes powerfully, setting viewers keenly anticipating a second installment.

7. Common Side Effects

An unexpected 2025 gem, this show is essentially a crime saga filtered through a humor of King of the Hill. Helmed by Joe Bennett and comedy Steve Hely, it tells the saga of a nerdy mycologist who discovers a miraculous fungus and soon finds himself pursued by everyone from unscrupulous Big Pharma CEOs to government agents.

Far from being a spoof, the show unfolds with the serious intensity of a 1970s conspiracy thriller. Enhanced by trippy animation and an eerie musical soundtrack, the plot explores deeper mysteries about the mushroom's true effects. It's a smart, beautifully animated, and utterly gripping first season.

6. Fallout Season 2

This acclaimed adaptation based on the iconic gaming franchise came back with a new season of episodes that deepened its epic lore and expanded its post-apocalyptic world. While it ventures toward the fan-favorite location of New Vegas, the story is not a straight adaptation of that title; rather, it further examine themes of control and autonomy.

The show skillfully juggles several narrative threads and points of view, from the protagonist's quest for justice to Maximus's reckoning with the dogma of the his faction. The result is a rich layered and wholly absorbing chapter to the expanding wasteland mythology.

5. Invincible Season 3

Mark's bodily and psychological limits are constantly tested. He must grapple with opponents more powerful than he is, the aftermath of his actions, and the moral weight of his decisions. Excellent arcs for supporting cast members such as Cecil Stedman and Rex Splode round out a fantastic season.
